About

The Society of West-Coast Artists, a 501(c)3 non-profit fine arts society.  With 2 chapters, located in Northern San Francisco Bay Area and Central San Joaquin Valley, California. Founded decades ago, by Josephine Logan and holding their first exhibition in 1939 in Chicago, SWA has blossomed into a dynamic artist society that fosters a supportive environment for artists of all levels and 2d disciplines.  The San Francisco Chapter is situated in San Bruno and has a large gallery space, and the San Joaquin Chapter is located in Fresno and both chapters offers its members a myriad of benefits, from free monthly demos and networking to educational workshops and member shows including our prestigious Annual Exhibit.  SWA is also the sponsor of the International online exhibit "The Pacific Artistry Showcase", which is open to the public for entry; it encourages the public to learn about SWA and become a member.

Our goal is to encourage and promote our artists and art education as well as bringing a closer relationship between the fine artist and the public.

Each chapter's calendar is punctuated with juried art shows and gallery exhibitions that showcase the diverse talents of its members, providing valuable exposure and recognition for their work. Beyond the studio walls, SWA actively engages with the local high schools and community colleges offering an annual exhibition space to the aspiring young artists.

Membership in SWA not only connects artists with invaluable resources and opportunities but also cultivates lasting friendships and professional collaborations.

In addition, SWA is a completely volunteer driven society.  Consider becoming a volunteer.
